Stool 1, is designed with the intention of developing a bigger understanding of how structure and functionality are related to the manufacturing method with the focus on joining methods
With the focus of joining methods, the ash stools’ legs are cut into a tenon joint, that slots into the square mortise in the seat. The joint is made secure by adding a mahogany wedge to a slit in the leg-tenon. Making the stool simple in its construction and aesthetics.
In collaboration with Cressida Bell and Matthew Robinson.
